The Town of Irondequoit’s Community Center Survey is Now Available

December 18th, 2017 by IPL Webmaster in Adults, Kids, Teens · 2 Comments ·

The Town of Irondequoit values your input. A Community Center is being considered by the Town that will occupy approximately 50,000 square feet of space on two levels of the former Irondequoit Mall. Standard uses at the center would include multi-purpose room(s), a community room, locker rooms and offices.

An Advisory Committee consisting of Town residents and Town staff would like public input on the proposed additional uses listed below. Please select your first, second and third priorities for the potential uses. Feel free to specify and rank additional uses using the “other” category. You may also provide general comments on the overall project.

Thank you for your participation!

I propose an Art Center that would display art created by local artists, provide classes or forums for learning as well as provide a public meeting place for the Irondequoit Art Club (I Am a member). The center could coordinate with Irondequoit school district to offer classes for students as well as provide art supplies at affordable prices. Artists could be offered to display there work as a featured event in exchange for a scheduled public demonstration. I would be happy to create a detailed proposal as well as lead the project provided there is interest.
