It’s time! The New Irondequoit Public Library will open on Wednesday, September 9.

The newly constructed building will include dedicated teen and children’s sections, study areas, free wi-fi, multiple meeting spaces for community groups, and fully equipped craft rooms that can be used to explore and expand our abilities.

In order to move all the books, materials, and furnishings from the two existing branches, the current Irondequoit Library branches closed in August. The Pauline Evans Branch on Cooper Rd. closed on Friday, August 7. The Helen McGraw Branch on Ridge Rd. closed a week later on Friday, August 14. All due dates on items checked out in the weeks before the temporary closing were extended to Saturday, September 12.

Books and other materials that are scheduled to be picked up after August 17 will be available for pick-up at the Irondequoit Town Hall. Patrons who have placed books and other materials on hold will be contacted with details.

More information about the big move will be available soon, and you can read the official press release at the .
