greaterrochesterteenreadIt’s time for the Greater Rochester Teen Read, an annual event where librarians across the Monroe County Library System are encouraging everyone to read the same Young Adult novel.

This year, we’re reading All American Boys by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely.

In this Coretta Scott King Honor Award–winning novel, two teens—one black, one white—grapple with the repercussions of a single violent act that leaves their school, their community, and, ultimately, the country bitterly divided by racial tension.

You can also meet the authors at the Irondequoit Library on Wednesday, November 9, at 7:00 PM. Refreshments will be provided and teens can enter to win prizes. A book signing with the authors will follow the event.

Teens can also visit the library now for a chance to win front row tickets (contest ends on November 7).

The authors will also be appearing at the Central Library on Thursday, November 10, at 4:00 PM.
