The Irondequoit Public Library has an opening for a Part-Time Library Clerk. The position includes nights and weekends. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Candidates meeting the following requirements are invited to apply.

Job Requirements
1. Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.
2. Flexibility for scheduling is a must. Hours include evenings until 9:00 PM, weekends, and Fridays until 6:00 PM on rotating basis
3. Physical capability to stand for a shift of 4 hours, walk, reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Library experience preferred.

Job Description: Major Duties
1. Reports directly to the Circulation Supervisor and performs circulation desk duties using an automated system.
2. Operates office equipment including cash register, credit card equipment, copier, and computers.
3. Collects fines, makes and checks routine arithmetic computations.
4. Answers the phone and routes calls or takes messages.
5. Calls patrons to deliver messages or information.
6. Shelves library materials as needed.
7. Other library duties as assigned.

6. Good math skills and ability to make simple calculations quickly and accurately.
7. Ability to understand and follow complex instructions.
8. Ability to interpret library policies and procedures.
9. Commitment to personal learning to meet changing procedures and new technology.

Hours: 20 hours per week including at least one evening a week and weekend hours.

Salary: $12.46 per hour
