In observance of Columbus Day, the Irondequoit Public Library will be closed on Monday, October 9. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, October 10.

Join Us on Saturday (9/30/17) for the Made In Rochester Game Festival

The Irondequoit Public Library, in collaboration with the MAGIC Center at RIT, will host the Made In Rochester Game Festival this Saturday, September 30, from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM.

The “ROC Game Fest” will be free and open to the public, and attendees will get the chance to play more than 25 video games and tabletop games developed in the Rochester area by students, game enthusiasts/hobbyists, and professional game developers. The Le Petit Poutine truck is also scheduled to make an appearance at the library.

Please stop by to play the games, meet the developers, and offer them feedback on their newest games. And let us know you’re coming on the Event Page on Facebook.

School’s back in session… so that means the Irondequoit Public Library will resume our expanded weekend hours this Saturday!

Beginning Saturday, September 9, weekend hours at the library will be as follows:

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sunday: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

In case you missed it, Miss Amy and Mr. Matt talked about the upcoming “United Stories of America” series of storytimes on WXXI’s Connections last week.

Librarians at the Irondequoit Public Library say they are in a unique position to help create a more inclusive community, and promoting diversity and understanding can start at a young age. That’s why they’ve created the United Stories of America program. It’s a pre-school storytime series with a social justice theme. Presenters include a female illusionist talking about gender identity, a disability rights activist, and more.
